STC — The Specific Training Center for Petroleum Industries (Zawia) is Libya’s flagship vocational institute for the oil and gas sector, established in 1976 within the National Oil Corporation ecosystem. Programmes combine workshop practice, safety culture, and sector-aligned competencies.

About STC
Workshop safety and HSE culture are central to STC’s mechanical, electrical, and process operations training. Trainees and staff operate in live labs and industrial-style bays aligned with NOC expectations.
Role overview
12-month structured trainee programme for graduates aiming to become HSE generalists in a live training centre (workshops, labs, and residential areas).
Key responsibilities
- Assist risk assessments, toolbox talks, and incident logging.
- Maintain PPE registers, SDS files, and audit checklists.
- Support environmental monitoring (waste, spills) under supervision.
- Complete rotations across Maintenance, Labs, and TVT workshops.
- Contribute to emergency drills and safety inductions for new cohorts.
Qualifications
Must-have: recent degree in occupational health, environmental science, engineering, or related; willingness to work on-site in Zawia. Nice-to-have: first aid certificate; Arabic/English reporting skills.
